Takaful IKHLAS Sdn Bhd, which currently has 10 branches nationwide, will open its 11th branch in Kuala Terengganu in April next year, its president and chief executive officer Datuk Syed Moheeb Syed Kamarulzaman said.

He said Kuala Terengganu was chosen as the location for the new branch due to the encouraging response from the people in the state.

“Despite not having a branch the state, we found that our clients from Terengganu contributed 12 per cent of the company’s revenue for the 2008 financial year,” he said.

MNRB Holdings Bhd. (MNRB) telah berbincang dengan beberapa pihak yang berminat untuk membeli pegangan dalam anak syarikatnya Takaful Ikhlas Sdn. Bhd. (Takaful Ikhlas) dalam usaha pengembangan perniagaan di luar negara.

Presiden dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Kumpulan MNRB, Anuar Mohd. Hasan berkata, perbincangan telah berlaku tetapi tiada sebarang keputusan kukuh yang telah dicapai.

”Setakat ini beberapa pihak telah bertanya kepada kami tetapi tiada sebarang keputusan muktamad telah dibuat. Sebarang keputusan yang akan dibuat perlu mendapat kelulusan Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) terlebih dahulu,” katanya.

Prudential BSN Takaful (PruBSN), on Monday introduced its latest medical plan, the Takaful Health, a “first” for the Takaful industry in Malaysia with its annual No Claim Bonus (NCB).

PruBSN is a joint venture company between Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) and Prudential PLC (Prudential).

Its chief operating officer Azim Mithani said Takaful Health provides comprehensive hospital and medical coverage until age 80 as an extension to the Takafulink and Takaful Cerdik, the company’s pioneering investment-linked protection and educational insurance plans respectively.
