Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Bhd made a record cash back payout of RM30mil to its general Takaful customers who did not make any claims during the coverage period.

This payout was an increase of 7.5% compared to the amount paid out in the previous financial year to customers across its general products including motor in the face of rising insurance premiums.

Takaful Malaysia group managing director Datuk Mohamed Hassan Kamil the “Cash Back” was its most unique proposition compared with other Takaful operators or the conventional insurance providers in Malaysia.

Great Eastern Takaful Berhad (GETB) diumumkan Pengendali Takaful Terbaik Asia 2013 oleh majalah Islamic Business & Finance 2013.

Penyampaian anugerah itu di Dubai, Emeriah Arab Bersatu, Disember lalu menjadikannya yang ketiga dimenangi GETB untuk tiga tahun berturut-turut.

Great Eastern Takaful Bhd is targeting to move from fourth to the third spot next year in terms of new business total weighted contribution (NB TWC) in 2014.

Its chief executive officer Zafri Ab Halim said on Wednesday it ranked eighth out of 12 players last year while its NB TWC market share improved from 4.3% in 2012 to 10% this year.

Next year, it expects the market share to range from 10% to 20%.
