Prudential BSN Takaful Bhd (PruBSN) plans to expand its takaful market, including strengthening its position in the non-Muslim market, which makes up 35 percent of its customers.
“We will continue to educate the public that takaful is not meant for Muslim certificate holders only,” said its chief executive officer Mohamad Salihuddin Ahmad.
“Setting an exemplary standard of delivery and world-class service will be our first task,” he said in a statement Friday.
PruBSN will also further strengthen its position in the takaful industry by introducing new products this year, including a pure protection product for bancatakaful, Salihuddin said.
Also in the pipeline are two new products, which include two new riders for agency distribution, which will be launched in the next financial year, he said.
To extend its reach further to customers, PruBSN will be setting up offices in Shah Alam and Johor Baharu by year-end, while at least three more offices will be opened in other areas next year, Salihuddin said.
“This wil also be our first step to expand our presence geographically in efforts to realise our aspiration to become a world-class Syariah-compliant services provider,” he said.
PruBSN Friday launched its marketing and administration centre to help boost the company’s customer service initiatives.
The centre, located in Wangsa Maju, houses the marketing, support and customer services departments.
Currently, PruBSN’s products are being sold by its direct and Prudential Assurance agency force, which has a combined total of almost 10,000 agents.
