Hong Leong MSIG Takaful serah zakat perniagaan kepada LZS

Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Berhad (HLMT) menyerahkan zakat perniagaan sebanyak RM41,949.66 kepada Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS).

Zakat itu diserah Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif HLMT Wan Mohd Fadzlullah Wan Abdullah kepada Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif LZS Mohamed Izham Mohamed Yussof dalam satu majlis di sini.

Wan Mohd Fadzlullah berkata penyerahan zakat itu adalah bagi memenuhi kewajipan syarikat berkenaan dalam membantu golongan asnaf fakir miskin sekitar Selangor.

Wan Mohd Fadzlullah Wan Abdullah, former executive vice-president of Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd, is tipped to take over the helm at Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Bhd (HLMT), say sources.

According to one source, Wan Mohd Fadzlullah is slated to replace Mohd Fauzi Yaakub as CEO as Fauzi will step down after serving about a year as the company’s top executive.

The source told SunBiz that Wan Mohd Fadzlullah resigned from Takaful Ikhlas on June 19, 2013 and is expected to helm HLMT come July 1.

MATTA and firm offer Islamic insurance scheme for pilgrims

The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) and a major insurance company here have come up with a scheme to support a Government requirement that all haj and umrah pilgrims must have takaful (Islamic insurance) coverage.

MATTA president Datuk Khalid Harun said the association and Hong Leong Tokio Marine Takaful Bhd (HLTM Takaful) would be collaborating on the newly-launched MATTA Haj and Umrah Personal Accident Takaful Scheme.

“The scheme conforms with Section 6(1A) of the Tourism Industry Act, which makes it compulsory for haj and umrah pilgrims to have valid takaful coverage,” he said after the signing of a MoU between MATTA and HLTM Takaful at Putra World Trade Centre yesterday.
